Florida Sisters in Crime Chapters

When we finally got a Sisters in Crime chapter here in Florida, surprise, surprise it happened to be formed right in my hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. Which, at the time, I thought was a little strange as most of the big writer groups were all created and headquartered in South Florida. Even though I never got a chance to attend any of the meetings I was just happy for the North Florida writers to have a national group in the area. Yes, there are representative groups formed for romance writers and general fiction writers in most of the counties in our area but it was nice to have a women’s group too. But I love mysteries and hope to someday write a couple of my own sometime in the future.

Now we have FOUR! That’s right we have so many women mystery writers living and working in Florida that we need 4 different groups. Of course, I just read that someone in the panhandle wants one formed in that area too. Below is what I have on each one including the original:

They have redone their website once again. To me, it’s a lot blander than it was before. And they haven’t updated anything since the end of last year. Let’s get on it ladies!

Nice website, good content with a nice color scheme and they keep it updated with current information.

The website is new and only been up since the first of the year. Need to add more content, pay the yearly hosting and domain fee to turn off the ads everywhere and add some color. Way too much white space.

Just formed in the last quarter of last year but still plenty of time to fill out the website and get some posts started on their Facebook page. There is no email listed on the website or the Facebook page not even a web page form. Need one of those famous members to take charge and get that website completed and up-to-date.

If any of my readers are members of any of these groups I really hope you will share my observations with your webmistress. It is very difficult to get new members and showcase your published authors to bring in even more members if you don’t present your club in a professional light.
