What Makes a Good Biography

What Makes a Good Biography?  Well, according to Websters – “the story of a real person’s life written by someone other than that person”.  But what makes it a good biography?  That, I’m afraid, is not a very easy answer.  But for our purposes, we will say that a “good” biography is an essay that gives a summary of someone’s life to include the basic details as well as some anecdotes that will entertain and inform your readers. You should try to make this person that you want to be remembered as real as possible and include things in your biography that will allow your readers to know what kind of person they really were. Not just the facts of their life but what do you want people to know about that person that made them special to you.  So be sure and include a funny story, a serious story and an everyday story about your loved one.  Remember to include pictures of your loved one.  Pictures help us, visual learners, to “see” someone better as well as the words.

Be sure and check over your work before you publish your page for typos, incorrect grammar, and misused words.  You should have a friend or relative read over what you have written to see if you have missed anything.  You want to publish a grammatically correct biography as much as possible. A great tool to use for this is called Grammarly. Check out this software and it can save you a lot of work and embarrassment in your writing projects.
