Who Is Your Favorite Female Detective

We want to know who is your favorite female detective? We all love to watch detective stories and I love to watch them on TV, at the movies and read about them. Some of my favorites from books have crossed over to television and the movies. That is especially nice. If the movie script stays true to the book and the director and editor know what they are doing. Over the last 40 years that I have been reading and watching detective stories there have not been that many female detectives until the last few years. I started out watching Angie Dickinson in Policewoman, Cagney and Lacey in the 1980s and now watch Rizzoli and Isles. In books, there are so many female detectives of one kind or another these days.

As you can tell from my posts my taste in detective stories runs the gamut from older grandmother types such as Mrs. Pollifax and Mrs. Marple to younger ones like Nancy Drew and the Boxcar Children (yea brothers and sisters solving mysteries). Right now I love to read the Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum stories and JD Robb’s Eve Dallas series. Both have an interesting story-line, great characters, fast-paced and just plain fun reading.

They have made a movie of the first book of Stephanie Plum and have done a really decent job of it. I don’t think they will make anymore because it only made about $36 million but who knows, we can only hope they will and soon. There have been rumors that the Eve Dallas series is being considered for a movie as well. It is fun trying to figure out who they would cast as Eve Dallas and Rourke (yum) and the other characters in the series. You should read some of the articles posted by fellow fans about the casting. My favorite is at: http://www.heroesandheartbreakers.com/blogs/2015/04/eve-roarke-4ever-fantasy-casting-jd-robb-in-death-series
