Whats Your Favorite National Week Observance

We are back to our favorite website again looking for interesting topics to talk about. We decided to pick the National Observance Week ones this month. Below is a listing from their website that we thought you might enjoy knowing about this second week in February. Yes, we all know that Valentine’s Day is this week and most of you are worried about getting your special someone what they would consider a romantic gift but since I am not currently in a relationship nor do I wish to be in one I will just buy my own chocolates and share them with my mom and youngest daughter.

Kraut and Frankfurter Week – Second Week of February
This one is easy we will just throw some hotdogs on the grill and open a can of sauerkraut and be done with it.

Have a Heart for Chained Dogs Week – February 7-14
My daughter Katie will be all over this one as she cannot stand to see any animal hurting and wants to take care of all of them. We understand that sometimes dogs have to be chained up but people not every single hour of every single day in all kinds of weather.

National Secondhand Wardrobe Week – February 11-17, 2018
This one is also easy as almost every single thing that I own is second-hand and we normally only buy from second-hand stores when we do actually get more clothes. You cannot have nice things while traveling around in an old RV all the time.

Take Your Family to School Week – February 11-17, 2018
Nope, not this one either as the only kids that are currently in school is my grandchildren. Both live too far away to spend any time at their school unless it’s for a concert (my oldest granddaughter plays the Sax in the middle school orchestra). My youngest daughter is taking some preparatory classes at the local night school. I take her there every single day but I don’t think she would appreciate my showing up every night for a week in her classroom.

National Condom Week – February 14-21
This doesn’t really apply to me, see above, but I hardily endorse it and encourage all of my children to partake of any freebies being given away anywhere this week.

Random Acts of Kindness Week – February 11-17
And finally, the one I was most interested in finding. National Random Acts of Kindness Week. Click on the title to be taken to the website that has lots of information. We should strive to do random acts of kindness every single day and the best ones are anonymously done. It can be as simple as holding the door open for someone behind you. Taking a few minutes to answer a child’s question in an engaging manner, smiling at people as you walk around during the day, saying hello to people as you pass by or even just waving at your neighbors to let them know you see them and acknowledge their existence. If you can, why not buy someone’s breakfast/lunch as you check out. It doesn’t have to be anyone special just someone who looks like they could use a little pick-me-up. Use your imagination and have a great week!

Of course, there are others for this week but the above are a few that I liked the best.
