Swords, Barons and a Feudal system in some far-away land. The Power Ascending series doesn’t have a lot of magic happening in this prequel but it set in the same world as the other series. I’m sure the first book will have lots of great magical battles as well as sword fights all around. This book introduces Ludwig and Charlaine. The main characters and love interests for the series. He is a Baron’s son and expected to run the kingdom when his father dies and she is a daughter of a Smith. She has just earned her Masters status as a Swordmaker. Ludwig is your typical privilege Lord. That is until they meet.

I do like to receive free eBooks from authors and the prequels can be an effective marketing tool to introduce your world and characters to new readers. By necessity these should be short and mostly a way to make potential buys curious about your series, the world you have created and the characters you choose to feature. Remember the whole point of the give-away is to garner interest but mainly it is to gather email addresses. This is your main tool in marketing. After all, you cannot really sell anything if you do not have a devoted listing of people who are willing to try everything you publish and then to tell all their friends and family about it.

Update for my Birthday

I too am on a writing journey. I have published a couple of non-fiction books, a couple of self-designed calendar books, and even some kids activity books (I only have about 48 left to go in that series). But I would like to finish the Historical Fiction book as well as the history book about the haunted hotel in Lake City over the next couple of weeks.

To that end I will be setting up a series of fundraisers. I have revised my Book Marketing workbook to be a more informative and helpful guide to the introverted writer having trouble starting on their digital marketing plans.
