Florida Department of Law Enforcement employs over 1800 workers all over the state with a budget of over $300 million. Now that may sound like a lot but you have to consider that Florida has over 18 million people living and working within its borders and is continuing to grow each and every day. Their budget has to cover not only the salaries of the personnel but the buildings, maintenance, gas, electric, office supplies, forensic stuff, etc. In essence, they are budgeted for about $16 per person to investigate crimes, support county law enforcement, community educational programs and keep the peace within the capital of Tallahassee. The State Law Enforcement Agencies Demographics Survey for 2015 lists 83 females as employed by FDLE but did not state in what capacity they were employed.

Tells how to apply for a position, the employment and benefits of becoming a special agent, the hiring process as well as the qualifications required of all special agents hired in the state of Florida.
From another report, we learned that FDLE does assist other law enforcement agencies but their investigative sphere is limited to only certain types of cases as listed in the picture below. Further reading within the reports lists other helpful information as to program goals, salaries of certain personnel and other things you might want to consider when applying for a position. The report is 10 years old so things may have changed a little bit since then.
