New Store Section for our website has been created and we are adding new eBooks to our inventory as fast as we can. You can visit it by clicking OUR STORE tab above or clicking HERE. Of course, you can buy an Acrobat Reader PDF format of our Insider’s Guide to Campground Hosting in Florida Parks directly from us. We have added most of the holiday books, coloring and craft pages and cookbooks. We are in the process of adding more eBooks we own the resell rights to as we can. Separating the store into it’s own domain should help keep our websites running quickly and efficiently as possible. Now that we are using a new web hosting service we hoping not to have to change to another one any time in the future.

We are slowly getting caught up on our blog writing on all of our remaining websites. This month we have let a few website domains go back to the registrar in order to keep up with the other ones that are making a little more money. This will allow us to keep them updated and may even let us offer more services to our fellow writers. Since, we have over 20 years experience with computers and websites we can help the new authors out with building them a website, writing articles about how to build your own webpage on some of the few remaining FREE webhosting places and even offer services to format their books into the most popular formats for self publication. Yes, you can absolutely follow the instructions on Amazon and Smashwords to do all of these things yourself. But why should you when someone is willing to help you get it down for a small fee. (Keep checking our http://websandblogsforwriters.com website for details)

August is a very bad month to try and maintain a writing schedule. It is so hot and humid it is very hard to get motivated. Added to that a lot of people are taking their vacations and/or getting ready to send their kids off to school. Of course, this year the weather has been a major factor here in Florida as well as elsewhere in the U.S. with no rain in some areas, typhoons in the Pacific, and torrential rains is other parts. So if you are having a bit of trouble keeping to your normal writing schedule then why not just give it a rest for a few weeks.

When thinking about your own marketing for your published books you might want to consider writing reviews on some of your favorite author’s pages on Amazon, GoodReads, Library Thing, or whichever online bookstore you might use to purchase your favorite reading material. Each are free to join and fairly easy to use. Amazon will send you an email to remind you to write a review a few days after your purchase. GoodReads allows you to import your Amazon book purchases directly into your book section. Of course, you can erase whichever ones you don’t want to list. We haven’t been using the Library Thing very much so we are still figuring it out. We recommend that you join a couple of them. Not only do you want to include the books you have published but some of your favorite authors as well. Also, every time you finish a reading a book you might want to take a few minutes, sign onto your accounts and write a little review so you won’t forget the details.

Calling all North Florida Writers! You will have another opportunity to “Meet the Public” and market your writing. The Antiques, Arts & Collectibles Festival will include a Local Author Expo and is inviting all writers in our region to come, spend the day, maybe due a reading, sign some books and maybe gain some readers in the process. This event will be held on July 18, 2015 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in White Springs, Florida. They are combining several different events this year to make one big show which should draw in a fairly nice crowd.
The authors will be located in the air conditioned Nelly Bly Kitchen and will be provided with tables and chairs. A homemade ice cream vendor will be right outside. Both the nice cool building and the ice cream vendor should entice lots of visitors. The cost will be $20 per author or 15% of sales. Continue reading “Local Author Expo at SFFCCSP”
