Holidays For Writers

Share this post on:

Holidays for Writers with all the relatives dropping in for food, presents and reliving family history, family feuds and what have you, it is a great time to get story ideas. You can brainstorm your ideas with them, get juicy gossip of other family members and figure out how to use them in your story. You have to write what you know, right? And who do you know better than your family members?

They can give you inspiration for a character, a storyline or even the beginnings of a murder scene. The holidays are always rife with emotion, re-living family events, sharing photos and news of the past and what they are doing in the coming year. You could probably come up with a murder scenario using your mother’s famous after Thanksgiving potpie, your cousin Maxine’s lime jello mold or something else altogether. The point is to be open to those around you, take note of their emotions, how they interact, learn their back-story, etc. You just never know what can inspire you in your writing.

We hope you will also take this holiday season to enjoy those family and friends, be safe and have a happy holiday season! Thank you for reading our blog and hope you will visit next year as well.

Till next year….
