Don’t ya just love Valentine’s Day? Not for all the hearts and flowers or even the notion that this is the one day a year that your honey should give you a special gift. I love it for the chocolate and candies. The next day is even better when all the stores put all the yummy stuff on sale. Those candy hearts with the little sayings on them are pretty great to munch on when you are typing on your computer. True, they are pure sugar but, hey, it’s Valentine’s Day and you should be able to indulge just a bit.
But let’s get back to my favorite topic, chocolate. I don’t know about you but chocolate is getting pretty expensive so if I can get some of my favorites on sale then I will go for it. Some of my favs or Hersey’s Kisses, almost all the Cadbury varieties and, of course, Brach’s chocolate anything. Since, they do a special packaging for each of the holidays you can get a really good deal on them a couple a days after each of the holidays. During the rest of the year, we make our own handmade fudge using Hersey’s cocoa. We can’t seem to get it to work during the summer months so we change over to fruit stuff then. Chocolate melts pretty fast during the summer as well so saving up for a trip to our local Dairy Queen to get a banana split or hot fudge sundae is a great treat.
