Digital Writing Magazines

Yes, we are living in a Digital World and that is no exception for writing magazines. It seems that paper magazines are slowly dying out. There are a variety of new magazines as well that have been started on a shoestring because printing and shipping costs are no longer a factor. The great thing is you can even start this kind of service yourself. All you need is a couple of your writing friends willing to submit timely and thoughtful articles on a regular basis, a graphic designer who can provide you with fun and relevant pictures and graphic art for the articles and a place to host the digital copies of the magazine.

Selection of Online Digital Magazines for 2023

The Writer – has several membership levels as well as print/digital magazine subscription for their monthly issues.

Founded in 1887, The Writer instructs, informs, and inspires writers, providing practical coverage of the craft of writing and of the publishing industry.

Writer’s Digest – A website filled with lots of great resources for writers as well as every other month issues of their print/digital magazines.

Pigeon Review is an online only website that features published submissions in writing and art every month. There is no fee to submit.

Pigeon Review was started by an artist and a writer looking to make a home for stories and art that evoke a sense a place; pieces that may have been overlooked for their simplicity or deemed mundane.

You can even find places where you can submit your writing for publication in short-stories and articles.
