Future History 2050 by Thomas Harding Review

I purchased this hardback debut novel by Thomas Harding because I liked the cover and saw a little promotional video about on my TikTok feed. The hardback book looks like a banded set of old notebooks and has some future post cards and other items inside to go along with the “Possible” future narrative. It is told from the point of view of a 14 year boy in the year 2050 interviewing his grandmother about how the world was when she was younger beginning in 2020.

You can read the synopsis for yourself. For me I thought the book was well written but might have dragged just a little bit in the middle when the main character was deliberating on his problem. Thankfully, the future this author envisions is one in which we might be able to change. But he does a fantastic job in depicting real human prejudices, greed, and the ability of the few to keep the many under their thumb.

If you found journals from the future warning you of the major disasters to come what would you do?

This is a universal link button to purchase the book in either hardback or eBook edition from retailers around the world.
