What Are You Thankful For

Share this post on:

What are you thankful for this year? For me, it’s my family, a few friends, and the kindness of strangers. We have a roof over our heads, interesting people we meet during the course of our volunteer jobs and a creative outlet for us in our handmade items that we make and the articles and books that I write. For those who don’t have those simple things in life, we hope that you will find them soon and appreciate them when you do. We don’t have a lot of money but we have enough to eat and are able to share our lives with good people we are related to and those we meet every day.

Yes, we have had challenges this year and we will still have them in the months to come. We can only hope that we find creative ways to solve them, the patience to see them solved and the gratitude when they have been accomplished. For this Thanksgiving season, we hope to see more of our friends and family, enjoy a good meal together and get caught up on the things we have missed throughout the year. So stay safe out there for those who are traveling and appreciate your friends and family while you have them. That is the best wish we can offer this holiday season.

As we roam around our current park we see the playful deer, the strutting packs of turkeys and the graceful hawks. It is a great idea if you can get out during the holiday weekend and maybe do a little camping, walk in the woods or hike along the many trails in our lovely Florida State Parks. That is so much better than joining the throng heading out for Black Friday sales. There are lots of different festivals prior to Christmas to get your shopping done and support small businesses everywhere. Stay safe and enjoy your holidays.
