New Store Section

Christmas5New Store Section for our website has been created and we are adding new eBooks to our inventory as fast as we can. You can visit it by clicking OUR STORE tab above or clicking HERE. Of course, you can buy an Acrobat Reader PDF format of our Insider’s Guide to Campground Hosting in Florida Parks directly from us. We have added most of the holiday books, coloring and craft pages and cookbooks. We are in the process of adding more eBooks we own the resell rights to as we can. Separating the store into it’s own domain should help keep our websites running quickly and efficiently as possible. Now that we are using a new web hosting service we hoping not to have to change to another one any time in the future.

Local Author Expo at SFFCCSP

AntiqueTractorShow (36)Calling all North Florida Writers! You will have another opportunity to “Meet the Public” and market your writing. The Antiques, Arts & Collectibles Festival will include a Local Author Expo and is inviting all writers in our region to come, spend the day, maybe due a reading, sign some books and maybe gain some readers in the process. This event will be held on July 18, 2015 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in White Springs, Florida. They are combining several different events this year to make one big show which should draw in a fairly nice crowd.

The authors will be located in the air conditioned Nelly Bly Kitchen and will be provided with tables and chairs. A homemade ice cream vendor will be right outside. Both the nice cool building and the ice cream vendor should entice lots of visitors. The cost will be $20 per author or 15% of sales. Continue reading “Local Author Expo at SFFCCSP”

RAM Local Author Expo Review

MeAtRam (1)The Riverside Arts Market’s Local Author Expo is now complete and here are some of the results. We arrived by 8:00 for set-up like we planned after spending the night with a friend who also agreed to help us get set up in the morning because my oldest daughter injured her foot at work and was unable to do much setting up this time around. She was able to come sit with us during the event which is always nice. I suppose since we were new comers to this event we were placed on the back row right next to Riverside Avenue which was pretty noisy with all the traffic behind us and rolling along above us “under the bridge”. It was mostly cloudy all day with a few breezes and stray sunshine every now and then. In the morning the sun was in your eyes when it was out but towards noon it was a lot better. The rain even held out until after the event was over and we had packed up to leave.

I didn’t know at the time but our event was competing with the “Springing the the Blues” Festival this weekend at Jacksonville Beach. So, there were not as many food vendors or even craft vendors that normally would be there and some of the authors that thought they might come didn’t show up either. So, we ended up having about 24 local authors, including me, three Sci-fi/Fantasy writers, three or four children’s authors, a couple of inspirational/motivational writers, two historical authors, a few fiction writers and a mystery author. Of course, with the Blues Festival going on, a Regional Pet Adoption Event at the fairgrounds and some kind of sporting event happening on Saturday the competition was fierce for people’s attention.

Marketing Your Book at Local Author Expos

NE Fla Local Author
NE Fla Local Author
If you have done it yet you might want to seriously consider filling out an application for the upcoming Local Author Expo being held at the Riverside Arts Market on April 18th. They are inviting all the local authors to “Meet the Public” discuss your books, your writing and even possibly sell a couple of copies. Of course, you will need to let your fans, family and friends know you will be attending the event so that they can come get their books autographed! The cost is only $25 per vending booth area, which is about a 10ftx10ft space that you will set up your table(s), chair(s), your books, marketing materials such as posters, bookmarks, buttons, etc. You might even want to consider setting up a canopy tent to keep the sun off and maybe even the rain. This is a “rain or shine” place. If you haven’t been to RAM in the past you might even want to visit this coming Saturday.

New eBook Store Plugin

475 Gift Basket IdeasNew eBook Store Plug-in. Yes, we are once again trying to a new eCommerce plug-in for our eBook store page. We have not been satisfied with any of the FREE eCommerce plug-ins being offered on WordPress.org and are not willing to pay for one until we actually find one that will work with our own WordPress theme and, of course, we begin to make some book sales. We have moved most of our handcrafted (physical items) that we have for sale to our Square-Up Marketplace account. They handle all the financial transactions and we just ship the items. Since, I have always wanted to own and operate my own bookstore I am determined to keep at it until I find one that works for me. We have an inventory of over 200 eBooks that we have the resell rights to and will be adding them a little at a time. We have some more that we haven’t been able to assess yet and will work on those once we have the others added. Almost every single one of those will only be $1.00 and are available for immediate download with all payments being processed through PAYPAL. Again, we will not have access to your financial information with them either.
